6/11 By The Way Cafe

On our way back to the Pier House, we tried to spy any interesting coffee shops for breakfast.

We came across By the Way Cafe and Redolencia Coffee (no site or network page).

It was my kind of shop. The owner and employees were very enthusiastic about taking care of folks. Everyone from the regulars to the tourists.

I had stepped inside to see if they had canoli (dying for one for awhile). Sadly, they did not, but they were so welcoming I figured we would stop there for breakfast anyway.

We appeared the next morning, and the gentleman (I presume the owner) was happy to see we had returned. We had a shortbread cake with raspberry preserves and drinks. I loved the cake! The tea and coffee were ok. But, the atmosphere is the reason to go. They played Queen and The Killers while we were there.

Also, they have a fun chalkboard for visitors to leave their mark. Keira was itching to give it a go. She also wanted me to teach her how to play chess, but I wasn't about to give that a go. Not yet.
